Could you tell us a bit about you and about your brand missymaomao? How long have you been in business? What made you start?
I had been retrenched and needed to find a way to make money while I cared for my son. I was a fine arts graduate with good sewing and craft skills so it seemed logical that I use these to start a business. It took me a while to find a product that worked. I’ve now been making bags for over 13 years.
I completed a NEIS scheme in 1999 and opened a shop in 2000 where I developed and sold the bags.I sadly closed the shop in 2006 and with my bag business in limbo and very little money I had to make some wise decisions. I aimed to supply my bags wholesale and set up studio in my small Melbourne home.

Sponsor Love: Maree Jaeger Photography: Why “only connect”?
This is a post from one of my lovely sponsors: Maree Jaeger.
“Only connect the prose and the passion, and both will be exalted, and human love will be seen at its height. Live in fragments no longer.”
(E.M Forster)
Life is all about connection- connection with self, connection with people, with places.Sometimes in the busy lives we lead, we take for granted those connections-we miss things in the rush.
Only connect- is a call to be in the moment- to connect with the experience of life and the experience of being yourself.
This is why the experience of the photo session is important- I provide the space for you to slow down- connect and re connect with what is important in your life. This happens firstly at the session itself and then in the images which will serve as a gentle reminder of what is important in your life.
My process is to connect with you – your loves, your dislikes, your favourite places, the things that make you laugh, the things that move you and are meaningful to you.

Your memories deserve to be presented well- I research and source the highest quality archival products available. Customisation to your lifestyle is paramount. I want you to love your images and connect with them in the way that makes the most sense to you. Some people love canvases and we can customise motifs according to your decor, others like albums, or customised portrait boxes the choices are endless.

You can connect with Maree in any of these ways!
