Honesty and New Beginnings
So here we are, in a new year, with all the hope that it brings. I feel that I have a confession to make. One that I only recognised for myself just the other day.

I haven’t given this blog my all. When I got back from my trip to the states I felt deflated and like I hadn’t accomplished anything. It hit me while I was away that I wasn’t 20 anymore and that my shit was not at all together and I let it get to me.
For far too long I held onto the ‘where I thought I’d be’ that I decided upon at 16. Ten years on, my world looks nothing like I thought it would. It was all of this crap that made me think no one would want to hear or read about my trip, so I rushed through it in just a couple of posts and changed by blogs purpose.
I’m recognising now that this was foolish, but I also see things for what they are. After a proper break I can see that last year was a relatively good year for me and I’m feeling reinvigorated and ready to share more of my awesome journey with you.
This year will bring big changes to me and my life and it will test me and my dreams. But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Now is my chance to let go of what I thought should have been my future and to actually create one that I am proud of. For now is as good a time as any and if I’ve learnt anything at all in the last 10 years it’s that dreams are what you make them.
Do you have some big changes (or even little ones) you’re going to focus on for 2012? I’d love to hear them.
Here’s to an awesome year!
Hello 2011!
So here we are, it’s 2011 & I have a big smile on my face!
This year is going to be awesome, I can just feel it!!
It’s summertime here and the weather is lovely. I have a few new projects on the go and lots of ideas for the blog up my sleeve.

It has been lots of fun taking a break from working and it has reminded me why I need to sometimes SLOW DOWN.
In 2010, I felt like I was going a mile-a-minute and towards the end I was feeling really worn out. But I can see the sunshine again and I am excited for all the possibilities that the future may bring.
Here’s to working smart and enjoying what you do!
I hope it won’t take me too long to get back into the swing of blogging, but please bare with me if I miss a couple of days.
I hope you all had a brilliant New Year’s.
Best of 2010 & Resolutions for a New Year
Wow! This year has just flown by!
I can hardly believe that 2011 is just around the corner. It’s been a bumpy ride this past year with lots of ups and downs. I didn’t manage any of my resolutions for last year (as much as I tried). But for now it’s time to focus on the future and not worry about the past.
Here are some of my top things that happened in 2010 (in no particular order):
- Starting this blog in September
- Turning my hobby into a business in March
- Graduating from my Undergrad in April
- Graduating from my Postgrad in October
- Turning 25
- Building furniture of my own design for the first time
- Seeing my cousin get married
And here are some of my resolutions for the new year:
- To achieve my Creative Goals
- To travel to Michigan to see my cousin get married (a different cousin than before) in the Northern Summer
- To find a little place of my own
- And to learn to give myself a break
I hope your new year’s celebrations are safe and happy.
See you next year all refreshed from my week off.
