Death Cab For Cutie: A Concert
It’s no big shock that I don’t get out too much these days for fun (I’m trying to work on that), but this Tuesday just past I made an exception to my hermit ways to see one of my favourite bands in concert. Melbourne is a great city for live music, but with international acts not coming here all that often the tickets are usually sold out within minutes of their release. So when I happened to notice that tickets were still available (in December) for Death Cab I just had to jump at the chance.
To say I was a bit apprehensive was an understatement. I went on my own and I had never been to this venue before and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m not as confident as I used to be about these things. I was pleasantly surprised.
The Palace Theatre has a floor area and 3 balcony levels. I got a spot on the first balcony and it was really great because for the most part I could see.
It was a great concert. Dappled Cities opened the show and they were great! Usually the support isn’t that good but they were pretty ace. Then Death Cab came on and played for 2 hours straight!! They played stuff from all of their albums and there was a great moment where everyone sang along to ‘I Will Follow You Into The Dark’.
Here are my favourite shots I managed to get from my iphone of the show.
